Water Restrictions.

We will aim to provide the most up-to-date information on this page as a quick reference as water restrictions change and adjust throughout the season.

POSTED SEPT 23, 2024:

The City of Calgary announced on Sunday, Sept 22, 2024 that all water restrictions have been lifted, effective immediately.

POSTED AUGUST 14, 2024:

City of Calgary Water Restrictions:

Starting from August 26 through the end of September, the City of Calgary will be shutting down the South Bearspaw Feeder Main for repair and be implementing Stage 4 Outdoor Water restrictions, which will impact irrigation systems as it prohibits outdoor potable water use.

Please check if this affects your area.

Online guidelines from the City of Calgary website encourage residents to “prepare your yard and garden for dry conditions by turning on your sprinkler on your scheduled watering days" ahead of the restrictions.

The City’s website does note that they intend to work with irrigation companies to mitigate impacts but as of this post we do not have specifics.

Kings Irrigation Water Restrictions Winterization Recommendations:

If you are in the affected area, please turn off your irrigation for August 26th.

Kings still recommends booking your winterization as early as possible for optimal system protection. The dates were predetermined earlier this year to secure equipment rentals.

When making your booking, please consider the following.

Your water needs to be OFF to winterize your system, so you can either:

- Keep your system off for the remainder of the year and we will winterize it on the date you book;

or

- If restrictions are lifted before your appointment date, turn your system back on at your discretion and water until your appointment.

IMPORTANT – Once your system is winterized, please do not turn it back on until the next season. If you turn on a winterized system, it will need to be rewinterized.
